Snowy Mountains Grammar School - 'Showing up Authentically in the World'

Celebrating International Women’s Day with the Next Generation

I recently had the pleasure of being invited to speak at Snowy Mountains Grammar School’s inaugural International Women’s Day High Tea, held for their Year 7 and Year 11 girls. It was a truly special event. Uplifting, inspiring, and full of meaningful connection.

This year’s theme, "Stronger Together," set the tone beautifully. I was honoured to join an incredible panel of women, Dani Goucher, Melissa Kenney, Kacey Wuelfort, and The Hon. Kristy McBain MP to share some of our personal and professional journeys. Each of us brought a unique perspective, and the collective energy in the room was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when women support each other.

As part of the event, I facilitated a mini workshop titled "Showing Up Authentically in the World." Together, we explored an important question: Are you dressing for yourself, or for someone else’s expectations?

The workshop encouraged the girls to reflect on where they might be influenced by external pressures in how they present themselves, from fashion trends to social norms—and offered a different path: turning inward. I shared a few simple steps they can take to start building a visual identity that truly reflects who they are at their core.It was such a joy to witness their curiosity and openness, and I left the event feeling inspired by the next generation of women who are already learning to lead from a place of authenticity.
